Welcome to the Exeter Mountain Bike Club

With Exeter Mountain Bike Club, there is something for everyone ranging from regular Children’s Go-Ride Skills Sessions and Confidence Builders for those starting out in biking, to Family Rides suitable for everyone, Regular Night Rides and our Weekend Mountain Epics with, of course, the compulsory cake stops.

Mountain bikers have traditionally enjoyed the food side of the activity; how many of us have said ‘go on, just one more then’ at Stella’s Tea Room on a balmy afternoon in the Quantocks. Is it riding that is the excuse for eating?

We have a deep-seated culture of quality food here in the South West as regular visitors to the annual Taste of the West Exhibition see. It’s all here on our doorstep, visible in the myriad of local outlets ranging from the numerous farmer markets to the specialist shops selling the Best of the South West.

It’s all related, the push to a healthier lifestyle, more exercise, quality food. The same culture applies to mountain biking here in the South West, where we have a rich source of natural geography, the moors, woods and forests, rivers and estuaries, sea and shore – it’s all there for sampling and digesting. Family trails, long distance cycle paths, open moorland bridleway, river crossings and forest single-track – it’s all here in great abundance.

So, immerse yourself in the flavours and colours of the region and get your teeth into mountain biking - have a taste of our diary.

What do we offer?

Rides for children, families and the more experienced at HALDON FOREST PARK, WOODBURY COMMON and rides on DARTMOOR, EXMOOR, QUANTOCKS and in WALES.

Exeter Mountain Bike Club (EMBC) have now been holding regular Go-Ride sessions and we have built up from half term and holiday rides to regular, weekly rides, half term and holiday days and themed rides for seasonal events.

If all this sounds like childs play check out some of the photos EMBC experienced riders took while off-roading in Chamonix, France!
